More Value Available to CMSA Members in 2022
What an exciting year it’s been here at the Case Management Society of America (CMSA). As the oldest organization focused on the growth and development of professional case managers across the healthcare continuum, CMSA is always looking to enhance the support available to case managers for high-quality, ethical practice benefitting patients, their families and support systems. Offering access to professional development and collaboration, practical resources, tools and opportunities to influence public policy on issues vital to case managers practicing across the entire care continuum and at every level of practice – CMSA’s work is never done. New programs and services are added yearly, and 2022 was another year of value-add for the case manager, no matter the setting.
A key foundation project for CMSA was the development and launch of a new CMSA Strategic Plan – EPIC. With a clear pathway for success, CMSA is now better able to focus on improving professional growth opportunities to CMSA members and all case members across the healthcare continuum. This EPIC plan (Education, Public relations/policy, Increased membership and Collaboration) sets the stage for increased member value, expanded educational offerings and better visibility for case managers with the public and on Capitol Hill. Here are some additional highlights of 2022:
CMSA members have free access to over 150 CEs (RN, SW CCM and CCM ethics) through the CMSA online Educational Resource Library. In 2022, over 35 new courses were added, further helping to assist in improving your patient engagement, navigating the field during a pandemic, staying on top of current trends and more.
CMSA launched a first-of-its-kind program during the 2022 CMSA Annual Conference with an additional fall session held in person. A newly revised CMSA Case Management Adherence Guide (CMAG) and a brand-new Case Management Adherence and Transition of Care Guide for Clostridioides difficle (CMAG-TOC) was developed with educational webinars offered throughout the country in partnership with CMSA chapters, further supporting case managers throughout the country.
